Inside Cure³: The Acclaimed Art Exhibition Uniting Creativity and Hope in the Quest to Cure Parkinson’s

The prevalence of Parkinson’s disease is shocking: statistically, most of us will know someone affected by the condition, which impacts over 8.5 million people worldwide, including more than 153,000 in the UK alone. Every hour in Britain, two people learn they have this progressive neurological disorder. While scientific research forges ahead, it demands unwavering support to achieve its ultimate goal: to slow, stop, and one day reverse Parkinson’s. Introducing Cure³ (pronounced Cure Cubed), a bold and beguiling contemporary art fundraising exhibition with an extraordinary mission.

Established in 2017 by the creative team at Artwise in partnership with Bonhams, Cure³ is now in its fifth edition. This ambitious exhibition is built upon a singular, inspired concept: each artist is given a clear Perspex cube measuring 20cm × 20cm × 20cm. Within—or upon—its transparent walls, they create entirely original artworks, which then go on display at Bonhams, 101 New Bond Street, before being sold online to raise vital funds for Cure Parkinson’s, a dynamic charity dedicated to finding a cure.

This year, the artists’ repertoire spans not only Perspex cubes but also 20cm-square panels and, reflecting the digital era, NFTs by leading generative artists. Together, these three formats form a curated collection that merges tradition with cutting-edge innovation, expanding Cure³’s reach and highlighting the spirit of a vibrant, forward-looking art world.

Beyond the magnetism of the cube itself lies Cure³’s deeper raison d’être: the intersection of art and science. Few endeavours have so effectively woven together the visceral power of artistic expression with the clinical urgency of medical research. Through commissioned works by luminaries such as Frank Bowling, Mona Hatoum, Ron Arad, and Julian Opie, Cure³ shines a fresh light on an often-misunderstood condition.

Parkinson’s symptoms—ranging from tremors and stiffness to slowness of movement—can be life-altering. Non-motor manifestations, including mood changes, chronic pain, and sleep disruption, add further complexity. By channelling artistic energy into a transparent 20cm cube, Cure³ symbolises both the “boxed-in” feeling experienced by those living with Parkinson’s and the hope of breaking free through medical breakthroughs.

Over four previous editions, Cure³ has raised nearly £2 million to fund revolutionary research through Cure Parkinson’s. This support advances scientific projects designed to slow, halt, and ultimately reverse the condition. Whether a physical cube, square panel, or NFT, each sale underpins these essential investigations, illuminating a beacon of hope for the global Parkinson’s community.

For collectors, Cure³ has become a red-letter event, esteemed for its museum-quality pieces available at a range of price points. From emerging talents to established art-world icons, each edition brims with collectible works that offer the thrill of owning something truly singular—all while contributing to an urgent cause.

Parkinson’s disease is the fastest-growing neurological condition worldwide. Its debilitating effects touch not only those diagnosed but also their families, friends, and communities. While research pushes boundaries, it requires imaginative, consistent support. Cure³ exemplifies this spirit of innovation, showing that when art and science unite, they generate both the funding and public awareness necessary for real change.

From its signature Perspex cubes and curated squares to its leading-edge NFTs, Cure³ unites a deeply committed international community of artists and patrons with a common ambition: transforming the lives of those touched by Parkinson’s. By infusing creativity into the cause, Cure³ reminds us that art does more than adorn—it heals, inspires, and catalyses groundbreaking progress.
